2024 VASITE Elections – We Want You!
We are now seeking new volunteers to serve on our VASITE Board. We are hosting elections for the following three positions:
Secretary: Running for Secretary will put you on the fast track to making a difference in VASITE. You will serve a four-year term as Secretary, Vice President, President and then Past President. It is a wonderful opportunity for you to bring innovative ideas to the Chapter, make new professional connections, and have fun with one of the greatest groups of folks in the state! Secretary roles include preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes at all Executive Board meetings. Tasks vary as you roll up through the board ranks.
SDITE Representative: This position allows you to represent VASITE outside of the state, to our fabulous Southern District. You will attend the annual Southern District ITE meeting, which rotates around the district. The 2025 representative will attend the following two meetings:
- April 13–16, 2025 – Memphis, TN
- April 12–15, 2026 – Biloxi, MS – Beau Rivage Resort & Casino
This position serves a two-year term. In addition to the two in person meetings listed above, the SDITE Representative will also attend virtual meetings where they will report on the accomplishments and activities of the VASITE section to the Southern District. The position also manages the traffic bowl winning team prior to and during the SDITE Annual meeting’s competition.
ITE Director: As a Director on the Executive Board, you will be right in the heart of the action! Join exciting Board Meetings where you will review key activities and help chart the course for our future. At the President’s call, you could lead vibrant committees like the Technical Committee, Young Member Committee, Membership Committee, or the Information Exchange Committee. You might even get to gear up for our Annual Meeting, shaping one of the year’s biggest events! This dynamic role is your chance to make an impact over a fun and rewarding two-year term.
